Aimee: Hey everyone, it's me, Aimee, here to send you some holiday wishes. Merry Christmas to those who are celebrating. And a thank you, to all of you for being with us over these years or just this week, if you're new. As you maybe already know, we've got a lot of changes happening here.
I'll link to some of those episode updates in the show notes if you missed them, But today I want to share two bits of wisdom that I hope shine a light on why we do what we do here. What motivates [00:01:00] us, what motivates me, and what I hope you know and receive from not just the work that we do here, but from the goodness that is within you and around you.
So it's Mr. Rogers, who shared these bits of wisdom. Who I love, he shared this a few decades ago, and I think we all, really, could use this reminder. So, first, " As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is. That each of us has something that no one else has or ever will have.
Something inside that is unique to all time. It's our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression."
So I hope you feel that Joy Lab helps you discover and uncover [00:02:00] that valuable and unique essence that is you, uh, your joyful nature. It's like a driving force for us here, our team at Joy Lab. We want to help you in that discovery process because it's true. Having you in this world, all of you, all the bits of you is really important.
Here's the second bit of wisdom from Mr. Rogers, Fred Rogers, that I think is really important as we move forward.
" All of us at some time or other need help. Whether we're giving or receiving help, each one of us has something valuable to bring to this world. That's one of the things that connects us as neighbors in our own way. Each one of us is a giver and a receiver." So thank you for being part of this community, for being a neighbor in this community and for helping to create more good things in this world [00:03:00] and for receiving help, being open to receive help, practicing receiving help, because it also creates more good things in this world.
It's a funny kind of paradox. Those two opposites giving and receiving- they both can create the same outcome, which is growth. And as we say around here, we are perfect just the way we are and we could all use a little bit of improvement. So we like to grow from that goodness that we focus on here.
With that, I just want to, again, send lots of wishes your way, blessings, energy, whatever resonates with you as we close this year and move to the next. We are so grateful to be alongside you for this adventure and we'll see you in the new year.
